As a TAFE Lecturer in TAFE Queensland you will be a member of a teaching team within the Digital Media and Games disciplines. You will have the opportunity to impart your extensive industry knowledge and experience to students using a variety of delivery methods including in the classroom, online, and workplace. You will also enjoy the satisfaction of giving students from diverse backgrounds the skills they need to succeed at work and in their future.
The Role
You are expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the organisation and to carry out activities to develop scholarly, research and professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline. You will also engage with industry ensuring support for the promotion of TAFE Queensland's applied learning philosophy.
This position reports to the Discipline Group Manager.
We have 2 positions available:
- 1x full time permanent position; and
- 1 x part time temporary position
Salary
The salary range for a Lecturer is $110,253.33 - $122,619.65, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience (pro-rated for part time role).

We are ideally seeking candidates with the below skill set:
- Expertise in Game Development Tools and Software. Proficiency in industry-standard game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal).
- Knowledge of Game Design and/or Game Art Principles. Strong understanding of gameplay mechanics, narrative design, level design, player experience, and/or visual art principles.
- Experience in Emerging Game Technologies (e.g. XR, Motion Capture, AI and other evolving technologies).
- Experience in Digital Media Production. Skills in video production, animation, digital art and interactive media.
- Industry Engagement and Networking. Ability to connect with the industry, stay current on trends, and integrate innovation into teaching.
- Experience in Higher Education and/or VET teaching.
- Curriculum Development Experience. Experience developing learning resources for Higher Education and/or VET students.
- Games Programming Knowledge (bonus). Familiarity with programming languages such as C++ or C#.
Mandatory Requirements

- Possession of a doctoral qualification or a masters qualification in a relevant discipline at least one level higher than is awarded for the course of study being delivered; and/or
- Recognised equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise, except for staff supervising doctoral degrees having a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience; and
- Knowledge of contemporary developments in a discipline or field, which is informed by continuing scholarship or research or advances in practice; and
- Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to a discipline, the role, and modes of delivery and the needs of particular student cohorts.
