The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 Project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Project
We are seeking a passionate and professional Safety Coordinator to join a supportive team on the M6 Stage 1 Project. This role will be a maximum fixed term 12-month position, responsible for proactively facilitating, implementing and supporting the delivery of all WH&S policies and procedures on site, and driving a positive safety culture.
The responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to;

Conducting daily site inspections in the tunnel, reviews and audits
Assisting in the delivery of Toolbox Talks
Reviewing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Subcontractor documentation
Building relationships with the frontline construction team
Assisting with incident reporting and investigations
Preparation of reports for internal & external stakeholders where required
Developing and maintaining Health & Safety records and systems

About You
The successful candidate will have:

A Tertiary qualification in OH&S
Experience working on major/large projects
A dynamic and energetic personality who flourishes when working as a team member and has no difficulty in working autonomously

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
