About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a self-motivated Project Controls Lead to oversee the delivery of a Rio Tinto Aluminium Sustaining Capital Portfolio for study and execution projects. The role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the annual capital plan, managing a team of cost controllers and planners, and ensuring projects are managed within the control framework. Effectively manage a project controls team of planners and cost engineers.
Apply a discipline governance and quality assurance across a portfolio of projects.
Manage the relationship with project controls stakeholders within the project and within the business.
Provide guidance to internal and external senior stakeholder management
Lead the implementation of effective contingency and change management process.
Analyse and report progress to plan to contribute to strategic and operational decisions.
What you’ll bring
Strong knowledge of project controls and planning
Experience in end-to-end delivery of projects from early study phases through to execution
Preparation, guidance and coordination for the required governance process
Strong technical discipline leadership in driving consistent and best practice project controls support, as well as governance which are aligned to the control framework
Preparation, collation, and validation of project reporting including estimating, planning and cost control curves.
Oversee contractor project controls activities to ensure compliance with Rio Tinto procedures and requirements.
Identify and implement improvement opportunities for streamlining project controls work processes.
