The role:
Reporting to the Program Director, Digital Enablement, you will work closely with delivery teams, practice managers, support teams and subject matter experts to build the foundations for support.
As a Principal Technical Specialist, you will play an integral role in the support and maintenance of a new large scale technical platform. Your support experience in both the project environment and operational teams of project and Business As Usual support activities will be critical to the role. Additionally, you will have the proven ability implement and meet quantifiable service improvements with well-developed management skills and knowledge of the Queensland Health Support model. You will ensure minimised downtime through management, planning, deployment and operational support and that support, maintenance and solutions are provided within a managed framework including but not limited to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

To be successful in this role you will:
- Manage the design of highly complex and multi-faceted infrastructure based systems including application solutions; server and network configuration and layout; environment planning and design; firewall planning; and user privileges, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety engineering standards.
- Influence and provide expert technical advice and leadership to Queensland Health Program/Project teams and key decision makers relating to ICT project infrastructure testing, development and on-going integration.
- Oversee and lead ICT technical implementations within a project management framework across multiple complex and diverse Queensland Health change programs and initiatives based on clients' business and technical requirements.
- Provide high level input and advice to the Manager Design Team on infrastructure development planning to ensure that service delivery meets future client demands.
- Work closely with other Design, Project, Operations and Architecture Office staff to manage collaborative relationships and consultations with senior stakeholders across Queensland Health and external technology vendors to develop, implement and integrate required changes to architecture, design and management of ICT infrastructure.
- Lead the continual development and improvement of technical designs and solution architectures and ensure strategic alignment to enterprise-wide business and ICT architectures within the whole of Queensland Health.
