Marsh is currently seeking a Managing Principal for our Sydney office, with a specific focus on the Construction industry.
As part of the Marsh Specialty – Construction Practice, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability, and client satisfaction of a portfolio that includes large and complex accounts. Your role will involve managing and developing client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, and expanding the range of Marsh products and services utilized by clients. Additionally, you will pursue new business development opportunities within the construction sector to help drive team growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and achieve robust risk management and insurance programs tailored to construction client needs.
Drive growth by assisting with tender responses and large construction project bids.
Maintain strong relationships with insurers and deliver placement solutions for both annual and project-specific needs.
Foster and sustain effective long-term relationships with key client decision-makers through regular meetings and communication.
Stay informed about large and complex claims, assisting claims personnel in negotiating equitable settlements on behalf of clients.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of major insurance classes and stay updated on new technical and product developments.
Support the development of team members and assist with at-risk accounts by leveraging your understanding of service team capabilities.
Deliver exceptional client service across all aspects of account management, including technical contract reviews.
Participate in industry events, conferences, and client functions to build a strong professional network and represent Marsh effectively.
Requirements:
Strong experience in the Construction Insurance Broking industry.
Valid insurance broker's license.
Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in insurance broking.
Sound understanding of construction business and organizational risk management.
Thorough knowledge of insurance and strategic client engagement.
Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
Tier 1 FSRA Compliance (essential) and tertiary qualifications (highly regarded).
