Position Title: Plastic Surgery Senior Resident Medical Officer
Employment Type: Full Time
Classification: SRMO 1 - 3
Salary: $99,996 – $122,359 (Plus 11.5% Super)
Location: The Canberra Hospital, Garran ACT

To be eligible for this position you must be PGY 3 + by February 2025

DUTIES
  • Attendance of Operating theatre, elective, non-elective and Emergency lists, appropriate an accurate documentation of surgeries and outcome.
    Clinics – outpatients – registrar and consultant clinic attendance, seeing patients documentation of clinical journey and arranging investigations and appropriate follow up
    Teaching sessions, including attendance and presentations including teaching of junior medical students and preparing for consultant teachings.
    Daily ward rounds with clinical journey documentation and planning
  • Daily ward rounds
    Organising and/or participating in a research project; and
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Mandatory:
  • Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
  • Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities, involvement in research, and teaching of junior medical staff and/or medical students.
    You will need to understand how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
    You will need to fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and other related frameworks.
Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:
  • Compliance Certificate from OMU (Occupational Medicine Unit) relating to assessment, screening & vaccination processes.
  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
