Office Manager Senator Jacqui Lambie Independent Federal Senator for Tasmania Position We are looking for an Office Manager to join the Burnie Electorate Office of Senator Jacqui Lambie. The Office Manager would manage the Electorate Office team, budgets and operations. The Office Manager would report directly to the Senior Adviser / Senator and work closely with all staff. The key objective of the role is to manage and oversee the running of the Electorate Office, operational and personnel elements of the Office and manage Senator’s travel, diary and expenses. This position would suit a highly organised person with management and administrative experience. Key duties
Management of the Electorate Office in Burnie including overseeing of office equipment, resources and security protocols
Managing the Senator’s office budget and office expenses and developing and executing a strategy for the best use of resources
Managing Electorate Office staff including contracts, onboarding and the staffing budget
Managing the completion of meeting briefs, casework and constituent enquiries
Liaising with internal & external stakeholders, vendors, suppliers, and Department contacts
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience as an office manager or senior administrative officer in a demanding public, non-profit or private sector environment
Strong budget management skills and willingness to learn parliamentary expenses management
Ability to handle multiple budgets and effectively advise on the use of resourcing
Ability to manage staffing budgets
Ability to manage staff tasks and needs
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to multi-task, prioritise tasks and problem solve
Efficient organisational skills and time management abilities
Proven reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments, especially in high pressure situations.
Working knowledge of the political process and the Australian parliamentary and political system.
Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Employment conditions The position is fulltime-ongoing and offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023. A base commencement salary of $83,853 (Electorate Officer B) and additional allowances will be negotiated with the successful applicant commensurate with relevant skills and experience. The additional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work. In addition to salary, 15.4% superannuation is payable.
