The NILS Specialist Support is responsible for assisting individuals, families and communities to access safe and affordable credit through a No Interest Loan to address their needs and enhance their wellbeing. The role is pivotal in creating timely and suitable pathways that result in approved loans to meet the objectives of the Program. The NILS Specialist Support encourages the participant in the planning and decision-making process, empowering the person to build their own personal financial capacity and knowledge.
The NILS Specialist Support works alongside the NILS Coordinator and FWC Staff across sites providing them technical support, troubleshooting solutions and targeted promotional strategies with the No Interest Loan scheme.
What we are looking for
- Relevant qualifications or substantial experience in a similar role (full prerequisites available in role description)
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
- Understanding of the gendered nature of domestic and family violence
- Experience in evidence-based interventions, including facilitating group work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing and case note writing
