Job description About Us: Pearson Allied Health Services is a registered provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), we specialise in providing allied health and mentoring services to children, young people and adults with disabilities. Offering a flexible service, sessions can take place in our office, our therapy house, our farm or within the community. Our goal is to provide a truly person-centred service while working within a trans-disciplinary team, our speciality is the provision of animal assistive services . PAHS is a child safe workplace. The Position We are currently seeking experienced staff who are passionate about working with people with disabilities and empowering them to live the highest quality life to join our Mentoring program, with vacancies with both children and adults. We are particularly looking for new staff who are interested in doing passive overnight supports. We have multiple roles available: Mentoring role/allied health assistant role: · Providing mentoring services to clients in their home, school or day program facility, or in the community. This may include transporting clients in your personal vehicle. · Implementing therapy developed programs and updating therapists on progress. · Assisting with group programs · Completing shift notes. Support Workers (Level 2) · To support clients who are in supported accommodation. · To support clients in day options or other day type programs · To become part of a team who supports a 24/7 client still living in the community. · To work individually with clients in the community providing personal care services. · To provide medication to clients (training provided) · Level 2 workers who can do tube/feeding; catheter care; supporting clients with complex needs (training can be provided) · Experience with complex medical disorders including working with clients with Epilepsy who require administration of Midazolam (training can be provided) Selection Criteria We are seeking a wide range of candidates to meet the unique and diverse needs of our clients. Candidates will ideally have one of more of the following: · Currently be doing an allied health degree, nursing degree, education degree or similar. · Have completed Certificate III or IV in Disabilities or Individual Support. · Have a certificate in Allied Health Assistance (AHA) · Have a background in aged care · A passion/interest for mentoring young people with disabilities. · Good written and verbal communication skills is required. Minimum Requirements Candidates MUST currently hold, or be willing to gain prior to employment: · Have completed Certificate III or IV in Disabilities or Individual Support. · Through their Eyes, Child Safe Environments training Certificate · Current NDIS Worker Screening Check · Current Working with Children Check · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · South Australia Driver’s Licence · Experience in working within the Disability sector (preferable) .
