Our Opportunity
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 14D14X – FIFO ex Perth or DIDO ex Port Hedland
Reporting to the Maintenance Services Supervisor, the scope of responsibility includes operation and maintenance of bores and pump stations including pumps, instrumentation, telemetry, control panels and gensets.
Additionally, tailings management including operation of discharge spigots, decant equipment and facilities are part of responsibilities and in pit dewatering. Finally, frequent inspections of pipelines, valves and other equipment is also expected of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Pump and motor fault finding.
- Routine servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs on diesel generators and diesel engine driven pumps; refuelling of generators and pumps.
- Inspection and maintenance of electric submersible bore pumps and centrifugal pump; bore pump installations.
- Equipment monitoring and diagnostics.
- Raising notifications and work orders.
- Provide support when required to the Maintenance Services team, in accordance with internal systems and guidelines, to ensure achievement of key performance indicators.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diesel motor mechanic trade and/or mechanical fitter trade.
- Experience with computerised maintenance management system such as SAP.
- HR drivers’ license, forklift, CN, rigging or dogging tickets highly desirable.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently and within small team environment.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with a strong focus and demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Substantial experience in mining production or operations preferred.
