Schramm powered by Epiroc is now seeking a Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic on a full-time basis!
Main responsibilities:
Conduct all activities in a safe manner whilst adhering to Schramm SH&E polices and statutory regulations and alerting others regarding potential concerns or hazards.
Attend pre-start meetings, safety meetings, toolbox meetings and training as required and actively contribute to the improvement on the workplace.
Adhere to all policies and procedures in accordance with the company management system.
Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards within the workshop.
Carry out on ongoing maintenance of plant and equipment as directed.
Conduct mechanical fitting duties during rebuild, maintenance and servicing of Schramm drill rigs .
Read and be familiar with all available job-related information (scopes of work, manuals, parts lists etc).
Select the appropriate materials, methods, equipment and tools necessary to complete the job.
Use a range of machinery, hand tools and fitting equipment as required and ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
Identify and request parts required for maintenance and repair purposes.
Supply relevant information to enable supervisors and management to provide accurate costings to customers.
Ensure high standards of work are maintained.
Travel to site to carryout repairs and servicing as required.
Competences, skills and experience:
Trade Qualification Heavy Mobile Plant, Heavy Duty Diesel.
Experience working in Service environment.
Demonstrated ability to read technical manuals and detailed work instructions.
Experience in hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical circuitry and systems.
