About the Role: The Manager, Disaster Waste will lead project management for disaster waste planning and preparedness in South Australia. Under the State Emergency Management Plan, GISA is the functional lead for disaster waste management, involving the operational management of waste and debris from disaster events in South Australia. When GISA is activated under these arrangements, the Manager Disaster Waste will be directly involved in the agency response which may include leading one or more emergency management functions depending on the size and scope of the event. Outside of disaster response events, activities such as developing, implementing, and maintaining panel contracts, agreements, plans and operating procedures will be undertaken to ensure South Australia is prepared for and responsive to future disaster events, and to provide recovery support to the community. We are looking for someone with significant experience in emergency management preparedness and recovery activities. You will develop collaborative partnerships and networks with key stakeholders and will represent the agency on key government and non-government committees and bodies in relation to emergency management, preparedness, recovery, and evaluation as required. This role is being offered at the ASO8 level for a two year contract.
