Lecturer: Applied Linguistics (Level B)

  • Based in Uni SA Justice and Society at the Magill campus
  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Commencement salary: $109,074 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the development, teaching and coordination of Applied Linguistics courses within Uni SA Justice and Society’s undergraduate programs. You will also collaborate with industry and play an integral role in contributing to the research objectives of the Unit. You will supervise and provide mentorship for HDR students.

About Uni SA Justice and Society

Developing new knowledge and multi-disciplinary solutions to some of society’s most pressing issues, Uni SA Justice and Society offers a wide range of programs and conducts world-class research in the fields of Aboriginal Studies, Arts, Law, Psychology, Social Work and Human Services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and teach Applied Linguistics courses for on campus and online modalities
  • Develop a research and scholarly track record
  • Develop links with relevant industry, business, university and community bodies
  • Plan, review and manage resources to facilitate the Academic Unit’s teaching activities

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Ph D qualification together with associated experience in research and teaching in a relevant discipline area
  • Demonstrated high quality teaching outcomes
  • Demonstrated commitment to establishing a program of research
  • Experience in the supervision of higher degree research candidates
  • Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a diverse team
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships with industry for the benefit of teaching and/or research
