***Operations Manager*** Grasshopper Soccer Canberra is seeking expressions of interest to fill a unique position as we look to expand and grow our programs. We are seeking an immediate start. This is a great opportunity to get outside, have fun teaching kids the joy of the world's most popular sport and earn some extra cash, whilst also building up your own portion of the business. We are looking for candidates with previous primary school teaching/sports coaching experience, capable of autonomy, enthusiasm for working with children, and a desire to take ownership of expanding our coaching presence in Canberra. The exact role is open for discussion, however the aim is to engage a operations manager who will take responsibility for the running of the weekly training sessions. This role will be responsible for operations of all training programs including:
Assistant coaches management and rostering
Coaching Program organization
Stock take
Customer Service
Social Media updates
Expansion of the Grasshopper Program in Canberra
Storage and transport of equipment and merchandise, stock control (supplied by GHS Canberra)
Set up and take down of fields and equipment each session
Coordination, training and management of junior coaching staff
The current director will handle all the back of house administration, giving the operations manager space to concentrate on the fun stuff. The role is a new position at Grasshopper Soccer and so final working conditions will be subject to discussion, however upon completion of the training/probation period, the applicant will be expected to be available weekends initially, before moving into weekly sessions if interested. The intention is for the successful applicant to take "ownership" of the day to day operations, and the remuneration will be set accordingly. This is likely to entail:
Negotiation of a flat rate for each session coached whilst induction training is completed, and/or
Commission paid on a per term basis in relation to the enrolment numbers
Ability to expand our programs and earn performance bonus and ongoing higher commission based on any new business brought to Grasshopper Soccer. This could include before/after school care, mid week sessions for young families, home school programs, one on one sessions, holiday programs. The opportunities are endless.
Effectively the earning potential is unlimited and based on the successful applicant desire to create new business in Canberra. We have huge room for growth in the market as the current director has needed to minimise his hands on management in recent years.
Ideally the applicant is looking to create a permanent part time/full time equivalent role for themselves within the business, and build the company with the current director for a long term working relationship.
