IT Support Technician

As part of the Freightways Ltd group of companies, SHRED-X is a fast paced and rapidly growing company providing complete secure destruction services for paper, electronic, product, and textile waste, diverting over 95% of processed waste away from landfill into sustainable initiatives.

We are looking for an initiative-taking and experienced IT Support Technician to join our growing team at Shred-X. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and providing excellent customer service. As the IT Support Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our IT systems, ensuring our employees have the technology support they need to perform their job functions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-line technical support to employees on a variety of IT issues, including hardware, software, and networking problems.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, hardware, and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Assist in maintaining the company's network infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, escalating complex problems to higher-level support as needed.
Provide training and support to employees on the use of IT systems and software.
Maintain accurate records of all IT equipment, software licenses, and support incidents.
Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements, making recommendations for improvements to the IT infrastructure.

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support role.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as experience with common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A passion for technology and a drive to continuously improve the IT infrastructure.
