We are looking for a casual Front Office Reception team member for our Abode Hotel Murrumbateman.
The right candidates will be able to demonstrate an innate ability work within a team and have a warm, fun personality. A great attitude will be more important than years of experience!

Contributing 800+ hotel rooms to the accommodation market to date, over the next five years, Iconic Hotels will deliver an additional 500+ rooms to the mid-scale, up-scale and luxury market. Situated in the heart of Canberra’s cool climate wine country, Abode Murrumbateman offers 50 stylishly appointed studio rooms, large flexible foyer spaces, communal kitchen facilities and a guest lounge.
Abode Murrumbateman provides several room types to accommodate for all needs, including rooms for families or leisure groups, pet friendly rooms and studios designed specifically for people who are mobility impaired.
Abode Murrumbateman guests can enjoy a continental breakfast in the shared communal kitchen, or create a grazing platter using fresh local produce stocked in the Abode Pantry.
Neighbouring highly acclaimed, world-class wineries and producers, and only a few minutes’ walk to local farmers markets, bakeries, cafes and parks, Abode Murrumbateman is the perfect week or weekend getaway.

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $21.78 – $39.11 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Skills Required
- Dynamic, vibrant, confident and professional personality
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel Front Office operation, with exposure to both front desk and reservations procedures are desired, but not necessary
- Previous Leadership or similar experience is highly desired
- Excellent customer relations, Accounting/Math Skills, problem solving, decision making and time management skills
- Ability to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to manage multiple tasks, conflicting deadlines and varying guest situations.
- High standard of personal presentation
- Previous experience using a Property Management System, preferably Opera is desirable
- Strong local knowledge of Canberra and the surrounding regions is highly desirable but not essential
- A current full Australian drivers’ licence is also highly desirable but not essential
- The flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- You must also meet the legal requirements to work in this country
