Seeking an experienced Food Services Team Leader passionate about providing appetizing food to reflect elder preferences!


Permanent part time
60 hours per fortnight


Work 5 days per week
Flexible start/finish times between 7.00am and 7.00pm


$43,820.40 p/year ($28.09 p/hr) + 11.5% Superannuation

About the role ...
The Food Service QLD Team Leader will provide exceptional customer service to elders in residential aged care by coordinating and developing effective services to ensure food is appetizing and reflects the Elders’ preferences.


The position will work in close collaboration with the Chef Team leader and consultant dietician to ensure nutritional needs of elders are met. Further, the role will supervise and give clear direction to staff ensuring that food service staff's training needs and instructions adhere to standards.


The Food Service QLD Team Leader will also ensure that the cleanliness of kitchenettes are maintained and that catering supplies are stored in an appropriate manner and in accordance to the relevant regulations. Experience in a similar position highly advantageous.

Qualifications ...

• A current qualification in food safety supervisor / food handling Certificate

Skills ...

• Ability to work in accordance with Health regulations and the Food Safety Act.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements for the elderly
• To be able to review and participate in audits of food handling procedures across Mi Care
• The ability to supervise and give clear direction to staff.
• Ability and proficiency to cater for 180 plus people
• The ability to liaise with and put into practice recommendations made by the dietitian
• Serve and present a variety of meals in an appealing way
• The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment
• Previous experience in maintaining an efficient meal service for elders with a high nutritional value
• Experience in training of food handling for staff
• To assist in catering for large off-site functions such as annual Holland Festival
• Demonstrated computer skills including accuracy and numeric skills
• The ability or willingness to speak or learn another language and an understanding of other cultures and history.

A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by Mi Care for this position.


A commitment to work exclusively with Mi Care Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
