Trepang Fisheries

Innisfail

DIVERS

Trepang Fisheries at its core is a commercial fishing operation. It has always been our intention to encourage those that have good fishing abilities and are passionate about the sea to join our team. We seek crew who have a positive attitude to work, who are motivated to achieve their own career aspirations within the industry and who maintain a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, team work and honesty.
For the right candidates we are more than happy to assist with providing diver training and industry qualifications where required.

We do strongly discourage those that have little to no interest in the fishing industry and have had very limited experience in diving and small vessel handling. It is also very important that candidates have a thorough understanding of what being at sea entails due to the duration of the trips at sea (12-15 days).

To be eligible for a position, the minimum qualifications are listed below of the tickets and certificates required by crew whilst working on board our vessels at Trepang Fisheries
  • Commercial Dive Medical AS/NZ2299
  • Diving Certificates: VET Rescue Statement of Attainment SISOSCB3064, Dive Master (or higher), or ADAS Commerial Diver
  • Provide First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Apply Advanced Resuscitation
  • Marine Boat Licence
We encourage divers to apply for a position with a great attitude, passion for working at sea, teamwork and a commitment to promoting good safety practices.
To apply for a position with Trepang Fisheries please contact our Recruitment Officer via email through the 'Apply Now"
Trepang Fisheries is committed to ongoing training of all our crew to provide the best safe practices within the industry.

Each year Management, Skippers, Divers and Crew gather to renew all licences, conduct courses, consult and meet with industry bodies such as AMSA, Fisheries Qld and Work Safe to ensure that we are kept up to date with the latest legislation and safety practices to ensure we comply with all licensing and legislative requirements going forward.

It is also a great opportunity for divers and management to interact, build and develop strong communications and working relationships with each other.
