Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care and support tailored to the needs of the participant, focusing on daily living activities and routines.
- Assist with communication and social interactions, using appropriate methods (e.g., visual supports, assistive technology).
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior support.
- Facilitate engagement in meaningful activities and community participation, enhancing the participant’s social skills and independence.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other support staff to create and implement effective support plans.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and communicate any changes in the participant’s needs or behavior.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that respects the participant’s dignity and preferences.
- Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Disability or equivalent.
- Relevant experience working with individuals with Autism Level 3 or similar disabilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective support strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with the participant.
- Patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills to handle challenging situations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for client support).
