Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Male Casual Disability Support Worker to provide tailored support for individuals with autism. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and will be committed to promoting independence, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized care and support tailored to the needs of the participant, focusing on daily living activities and routines.
Assist with communication and social interactions, using appropriate methods (e.g., visual supports, assistive technology).
Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior support.
Facilitate engagement in meaningful activities and community participation, enhancing the participant’s social skills and independence.
Collaborate with families, therapists, and other support staff to create and implement effective support plans.
Maintain accurate records of support provided and communicate any changes in the participant’s needs or behavior.
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that respects the participant’s dignity and preferences.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Disability or equivalent.
Relevant experience working with individuals with Autism Level 3 or similar disabilities.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective support strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with the participant.
Patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills to handle challenging situations.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for client support).
