How will I help?
This person will be a key member of Business Digital & Engineering Team, which is responsible for delivery of Digital & Technology initiatives to Westpac's Business & Wealth division.
The role will involve delivering solutions which touch customer-facing channels as well as internally-facing platforms and tools, to deliver solutions which delight customers and staff alike.
Key responsibilities for the role are below:
- Oversight of projects and programs to achieve realisation of business and transformation outcomes within specified timeframes and budget
- Work with key stakeholders and teams to determine the costs, scope, plan, timelines and delivery approach for complex projects and programs
- Guide team on Westpac Ways of Working practices relevant to the stage of delivery value chain, such as sprint-based delivery and agile prioritisation, to drive sustainable and cost-effective customer solutions
- Manage competing priorities where needed to effectively progress work that will achieve business objectives
- Build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to support the achievement of project or program goals
- Hold team to account for open and consistent decision-making processes to enhance transparency and increase ethical judgement
- Lead and role model proactive risk management in line with the Group's Risk Management Framework
- Assist team with understanding and dealing with change effectively to persevere when faced with new situations and challenges
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, teams and partners to connect ideas and influence outcomes
- Drive change and continuous improvement, leveraging sound business judgement
- Provide advice to mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies and support successful project delivery in line with established timeframes and priorities
- Develop executive level reporting and drive Steering Committees

What do I need?
To be successful in this role you should have experience working as a Senior PM or Program Manager on medium to large technology projects with budget of $2-$20 million) with tight deadlines. You will have demonstrated knowledge in budgeting and forecasting and have excellent stakeholder management and co-ordination. You will need experience with Project governance and related artefacts (EG. Risk control matrix, Architectural change design, Test strategy, Implementation readiness checklist, steering committee reports).
You will need to be a good mentor and develop more junior members of the team through indirect people leadership and demonstrate to them exceptional organisational and attention to detail skills. You will be a self-leader who takes great pride in their work and is a brilliant communicator to colleagues of all levels. You will also have experience working on complex backend and product systems with multiple downstream integrations and have worked to an agile methodology before. In addition to this you will need hands on experience in resource planning, hiring and management and experience in JIRA and Confluence would be great!
