Description of position:
Stocks, folds, straightens, and arranges clothing, shoes, underwear, and other clothing items. Clears sales floor and aisles of empty pallets and debris. Checks for correct merchandise signs. Assists members in locating sizes. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.

Description of position:
Stocks, folds, straightens, and arranges clothing, shoes, underwear, and other clothing items. Clears sales floor and aisles of empty pallets and debris. Checks for correct merchandise signs. Assists members in locating sizes. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and suppliers. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Folds, straightens, and arranges clothing in layers on stacked pallets to maintain attractive merchandise presentation. Hangs and straightens clothing on racks, straightens shoes, underwear, and other clothing items.
- Follow s merchandising standards and practices. Aligns merchandise, groups items by colour or size, keep stacks level, and collects and returns stray items. Checks for correct merchandise signs.
- Assists in folding and restocking saleable clothing brought by supervisors from the refund area to sales floor. Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone.
- Clears sales floor of debris. Removes empty pallets from the sales floor, operates cardboard baler and trash compactor.
- Communicates with Night Supervisor or Duty Manager to report progress and receive direction. Follows established inventory prop guidelines prior to physical inventory.
- Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Assists members in locating sizes, direct members to other merchandise and relates merchandise knowledge.
- Assists with front end duties as necessary.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
- Communication – Articulates information, both verbally and in writing, in a way that can be easily understood by employees, members, and vendors. Actively listens to employees, members, and managers and takes appropriate action as necessary.
- Member Service - Exhibits a professional demeanour toward others. Unselfishly serves others and assists members, employees, and vendors in a prompt and effective manner while following company procedures. Is proactive and reacts quickly and appropriately in identifying problems, finding solutions, and making sound decisions that reflect Costco’s Code of Ethics.
- Self-Motivated - Well-organised and able to prioritise, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision. Maintains a commitment to honesty, integrity, and high levels of efficiency and accuracy at all times. Accepts responsibility for his/her choices and decisions.
- Team Player - Cooperates well with a variety of personalities and individuals and participates in any manner necessary to accomplish the goal. Willingness to perform any tasks that need to be done and willingness to assist others as needed.
- Flexibility - Adjusts positively to change in direction or assignment. Ability to do more than one task during a work shift. Proven ability to comply with new programs, methods, practices, and procedures.
