About the role Animal Care Support plays a key role in ensuring the needs of animals in RSPCA Qld care are meet and providing administrative support to the Rockhampton team. Reporting to the Animal Care Coordinator; you will support the Rockhampton team in facilitating RSPCA Qld’s capacity to care within the region, while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Undertake all animal husbandry duties including the implementation of behavioural initiatives and assessments as required.
Transport animals between RSPCA locations and approved facilities as required.
Undertake general administrative duties to support the various team initiatives within the region as required. A high standard is required around data entry and maintaining accurate records as this may be used as evidence during the course of welfare investigations.
Work across other sites as required, including assisting inspectors and the animal ambulance in the field.
Undertake activities to support the effective running of the foster care program and offsite adoption programs within the region as required.
Who are we looking for?
Open driver’s license.
Proven domestic animal handling experience including administering medication.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
High attention to detail.
Flexible and adaptable.
Ability to prioritise tasks.
Vet Nursing degree would be highly regarded but not essential.
Genuine interest in animal welfare and the objectives of RSPCA Qld.
Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling, and an ability to handle a minimum weight of 10 kilos.
Part-time, permanent position, working 16 hours per week, including regular weekend shifts.
