The Epidemiology and Community Health Branch (ECHB) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) Division of Intramural Research (DIR) requires a part-time statistician to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble data sources.
Collaborate on projects led by senior lab members.
Work with the lab PI, staff scientists, and senior statistician from the Office of Biostatistics Research.
Data management, data sharing, and study operations.
Communicate study results to the team.
Manage datasets+.
Contribute to study design and drafting analytical plans.
Provide statistical programming, analysis, and report writing for the branch.
Carry out statistical methods and approaches necessary for the creation, completion, and analysis of research projects.
Recommend appropriate analytical designs for a broad range of data and analyze data.
Support the preparation of peer-reviewed publications, and will serve as co-author on publications.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Biostatistics/Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing statistical analysis.
Proficiency in conducting complex data analyses in high dimensional datasets.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
