Job Summary:
This role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining trailers (or other equipment as needed) to ensure optimal functionality and customer satisfaction. The person in the role must have strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
· Diagnose issues and perform repairs on units including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Perform annual safety inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers.
· Test unit following repair to ensure effective and safe operation.
· Communicate repair issues, solutions, and recommendations to service manager.
· Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
· Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
· Provide technical support and guidance to customers, as required.
· Perform pre-delivery inspection of trailers.
· Maintain an orderly and clean work area. Assist with keeping the entire shop clean and orderly.
· Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in repair or related field preferred.
· Proven experience in equipment repair, ideally in an automotive, trailer, heavy equipment, or industrial setting.
· Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
· Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and handle heavy loads up to 70 lbs.
· May require working with potentially hazardous materials requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
· Must have good eye sight (correctable 20/20) and normal hearing for diagnostics and trouble shooting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
