Service Agent

Description: Avis/Budget St. Thomas is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Service Agent to join our team at our newly re-opened Havensight location. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain and prepare vehicles for their next rental. This role is essential to ensuring our fleet remains clean, functional, and ready for guests, creating a seamless rental experience. The primary responsibility of the Service Agent is to clean, sanitize, and inspect returned vehicles to meet our high standards for quality and safety. Additional duties include shuttling vehicles between worksites, transporting guests to and from local hotels and resorts, and organizing the lot to support an efficient workflow. Attendants will also conduct basic maintenance checks, such as monitoring fluid levels and tire pressure, and report any issues to management. Job Duties Will Include, But May Not Be Limited To:
  • Vehicle Cleaning and Sanitization – The Service Agent is required to thoroughly clean and sanitize returned vehicles to maintain high-quality standards. They must ensure each vehicle is spotless and ready for the next customer.
  • Damage Inspections – The Service Agent is required to properly inspect and record all returned rental vehicles to ensure all damage is reported efficiently to the Claims Department. All vehicles with mechanical issues or excessive body damage should also be communicated to the appropriate department manager(s) so vehicles can be properly addressed.
  • Minor Maintenance and Vehicle Checks – The Service Agent will conduct basic maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights. They must promptly report any mechanical issues or concerns to management for further inspection.
  • Lot Workflow Organization – The Service Agent will maintain organization of the lot to ensure an efficient workflow. They direct vehicles to designated areas and maintain a tidy, orderly environment. This includes moving cars as needed to optimize space and facilitate quick access.
  • Customer Service – Providing exceptional customer service is a critical part of this role. Attendants interact with guests to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customers are satisfied with their rental experience. Every interaction should reflect the company’s commitment to service excellence.
  • Guest and Vehicle Transportation – The Service Agent will shuttle guests between the rental lot and local hotels, resorts, or other designated locations. They are responsible for providing a friendly, welcoming experience, ensuring guests feel comfortable and well-cared-for throughout the journey. Additionally, the Service Agent will be required to shuttle vehicles between the rental lot and other worksites or partner locations as needed to support business operations and inventory management.
  • Execute Additional Duties as Assigned – The Service Agent is expected to complete any additional tasks that fall reasonably within the position as requested by their supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
  • Valid US Virgin Islands (USVI) driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify and report vehicle damages accurately.
  • Flexibility in workdays and work hours, as schedules may change based on reservations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for tasks that involve vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
