REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently.
Possess basic reading, math, English, science and critical thinking skills
Appropriate typing/keyboarding accuracy and wpm skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Secretarial experience; Medical Secretarial course/experience
Windows 2000 & beyond and Microsoft applications experience
One or two-year applicable college degree , Associates degree preferred
Provides routine and acute trauma patient reception (phones/reception window) in The Imaging Center. Minimal to no exposure to blood and/or other body emesis-borne pathogens. Clerical duties at Radiology Desk(s) and work counters using computers and IT systems to order and adjust patient orders in the Meditech Expanse HIS/RIS. Responsible for ensuring computer input is performed and correct for all Imaging procedure services, including medical necessity screening, pre-certifications, etc. Wears Lab coat when on-duty. Assists the Director-Imaging Services and area coordinator as directed. NRH Patient Access/Preservice department staff provide outpatient Imaging scheduling functions; Radiology Clerk-Imaging will refer outpatients/office staffs to Preservice for scheduling of NRH Imaging procedures and will provide low-level support for that function if/as may be requested. Weekends / Weeknights routinely.
