The role will be based in a urgent care and primary care setting – allowing a provider to have exposure to a diverse patient population while focusing on pulmonary care
Responsibilities:
Providing and managing immediate patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and regular well-visits specific to pulmonology and allergy medicine.
Engaging with patients and their families or caregivers to understand and monitor self-management care plans.
Examining patients, evaluating medical histories, addressing patients' questions and concerns.
Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and explaining the results to patients.
Documenting individualized care plans and care coordination in the patient chart.
Analyzing patients’ medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination to determine the best care for pulmonary and allergy-related issues.
Updating patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
Prescribing pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Referring patients to specialists in pulmonology, allergy, or related fields as appropriate.
Directing and coordinating patient care activities of nursing and support staff.
Participating in meetings to evaluate practice processes and workflows pertaining to patient care and quality improvement efforts.
Participating in health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs, particularly those related to pulmonary and allergy conditions.
Following established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Requirements:
Active medical licensure and ability to prescribe medications in CT.
2-5 years of experience in pulmonology or allergy medicine.
Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of pulmonary and allergic conditions.
Supplemental pay:
Bonus structure available based on productivity
