Preschool Breaker/Float

Our preschool is looking for a permanent early childhood float and substitute teacher who is ready to work in all of our classrooms; classrooms include infant, toddler, preschool, and before & after school-age program. It's the perfect position for a loving, nurturing, experienced individual; easy-going demeanor, flexible schedule and reliable transportation a must. Our float/substitute teaching candidate should have completed or be working toward an Early Childhood Education certificate or degree. Position is Monday - Friday with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. TB test, blood borne pathogen, proof of MMR immunization or immunity.and 1st Aid/CPR are required immediately upon hire along with DCYF fingerprint/background application process in MERIT. Additional training includes 30 hrs STARS and professional development within 90 days of hire. We are looking for a strong team player with a warm, caring and positive attitude.
Job Overview

In this role, you will provide essential support in various classrooms, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need. You will work closely with teachers to facilitate a positive learning environment, helping to implement educational activities that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall childhood development.
Responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of early childhood education programs by supporting teachers in implementing lesson plans.
Provide supervision and guidance to children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Foster a nurturing environment that encourages communication and social interaction among children.
Support classroom management by helping to maintain order and discipline.
Engage children in literacy education activities, promoting reading and writing skills.
Facilitate math-related games and exercises to enhance children's numerical understanding.
Participate in physical education activities that promote health and safety among children.
Assist with early intervention strategies for children who may need additional support in their development.
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and caregivers regarding children's progress and needs.

Requirements

A background in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
Experience in childcare or classroom management is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Passion for educating young children and fostering their growth through engaging activities.
Familiarity with literacy education, math concepts, physical education practices, and early intervention strategies is a plus.
