Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, clinics, and acute care environments. Your expertise in orthopedics and knowledge of physiology will be essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities
Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients.
Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as trigger point therapy.
Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and self-care strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in accordance with facility policies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols within the clinic or facility.
Requirements
Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of physiologic principles related to rehabilitation.
Familiarity with pediatric physical therapy techniques is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
