Pediatric Registered Nurse

Seeking warm and compassionate Pediatric Nurses that will be responsible for the provision of quality home nursing services to clients within the agency's philosophy, policy, and Standards of Community Health Nursing Practice. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Initiates, implements, and supervises patient plan of care.
Demonstrate the ability to observe, record and report the needs and concerns of the client.
Coordinate the needs of home care clients and maintain constructive relationships with them and with all care providers.
Carries out the Plan of Care as established by Pediatric RN Supervisor and by the physician.
Demonstrates accurate and thorough documentation skills and compliance with documentation guidelines.
Maintains productivity standards as defined by the Director of Patient Services.
Monitor client's progress towards stated goals and communicate with the Pediatric RN Supervisor as needed for adjustments to the Plan of Care.
Performs medication review, accountability, and administration.
Performs enteral feeding and IV infusions as ordered.
Performs tracheostomy, catheter and ostomy care as ordered.
Evaluates the appropriateness, cleanliness, and safety of durable medical equipment, supplies and/or appliances.
Assists with household tasks directly essential to the patient's health, including planning and preparing nutritious meals, assisting in feeding, light housekeeping of client's immediate environment, changing of bed linens and making bed, and laundering of client's clothing and/or bedding.
Assists the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
May perform aide supervision as directed.
Communicates with other members of the health care team.
Adheres to established policies and procedures.
Complete company and state mandated forms and training in a timely manner.
Maintain a professional attitude and dress appropriately.
Be responsive to members of Sunshine Home Care when they contact and keep the company apprised of the current schedule.
Inform the office of all changes with client, personal health and scheduling.
Pediatric cases - accompany patient to school for 1 on 1 care. Should a patient not attend school the nurse is to report to the school for an assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an approved RN Program.
State Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse.
At least one year of home care and/or pediatric home care experience is desired.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Valid Nursing Degree.
Valid Nursing License.
Valid CPR Certification.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform mathematical operations as related to medication calculations, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Good organizational writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of the client assessment and teaching procedure.
Knowledge of disease processes.
Knowledge of medication administration and interactions.
Knowledge of the principles of therapeutic diets.
Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic technique.
Knowledge of catheter insertion and care.
Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate information with clients of all ages and socioeconomic levels.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Must be able to travel by car/public transportation to various sites.
Must be able to lift a weight of over 20 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT:
Work in an office/school environment or client home.
Potential exposure to blood, blood products and body fluids or chemical hazards.
