JOB SUMMARY This job is located in the Grounds Management Division of the Parks and Recreation Department within The City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. Workers in this classification perform various tasks related to the routine care and maintenance of nursery stock and equipment. Essential job functions include : planting and transplanting seeds, bulbs and cuttings; preparing, cleaning and weeding flower beds; fertilizing, mowing, and edging grounds; pruning trees and shrubs; operating water trucks or various other vehicles to facilitate plant care; and the routine cleaning and maintenance of hand tools and equipment. The employee receives daily work instructions from immediate supervisor and completes assigned tasks independently or as a member of a crew. Work is inspected at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.
