Summit Counseling Services began it's journey to assist in meeting the behavioral health needs in rural North Dakota in 2015. Summit Counseling Services is one of forerunners in providing care in these rural areas. Until Covid Summit had 7 offices located throughout Wester North Dakota, since that time we now have 5 sites located in Bismarck, Dickinson, Williston and our Residential Treatment Center in Stanton.
Summit Counseling Services is innovative in that we provide in person, and remote services to those in need. It is well known that mental health needs are some of the most under met needs in rural areas and Summit seeks to provide these services.
Summit is looking for a Nurse Practitioner experienced in the needs of our Behavior Health needs of our clients. We offer both Mental Health and Addiction Services as well as MAT programming at all 5 sites. We are looking for someone with a passion to help in these needed areas. We are looking of an onside provider in our Stanton Residential Unit that would potentially also serve our locations remotely or in person when needed to meet Federal Regulation, but Stanton is the preferred location. Travel to the remote sites may be required one a month to abide by potential upcoming legislation of seeing clients once a month unless the legislation does not pass or is amended. The travel of course is a covered expense.
This position requires that the practitioner be licensed in the State of North Dakota or willing to license as well as obtain a Waiver to prescribe MAT medications within the State as well. 3 years of experience is preferred but not required. This person must be knowledgeable in evidenced based practices and have the best interests of the clients at heart. Our philosophy is that Medications are a tool for recovery but not necessarily the entire solution. Therefore, the NP will work closely with our therapists to ensure that the client is progressing and doing well.
This position requires assessment, diagnosis of clients who present with a a variety of Mental Health and addiction needs. Typically, our agency provides NP services to individuals 12 through adult so experience or knowledge in prescribing for adolescents is extremely helpful. This position works closely with pharmacies, is required to complete their preauthorization's and ensure that a quality and professional rapport with the clients is maintained. This position requires an unencumbered license as well.
