In this role, you’ll support our Vice President of Sales and Omnichannel. Your responsibilities will include managing key national accounts and contributing to major customer initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major accounts such as Walmart, Target, Costco, and independent office product dealers, ensuring alignment with their business needs and sales goals.
Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement effective sales strategies tailored to each retailer's requirements, driving revenue growth through category penetration, share conquesting, promotional campaigns, seasonal offerings, and new product launches.
Product Positioning & Merchandising: Support product positioning efforts for the office and lighting categories, collaborating with retailers on visual merchandising, displays, and promotional materials to maximize in-store visibility and sales.
Revenue & Profitability Growth: Focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets, optimizing pricing strategies, and exploring new sales opportunities to expand market share within assigned accounts.
Customer Retention & Expansion: Build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities for both office and lighting product categories.
Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities, utilizing this insight to inform product development, marketing strategies, and account management initiatives.
Order Management & Forecasting: Coordinate product ordering and inventory management with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with internal departments such as marketing, product development, and Supply Chain to resolve customer issues, address supply chain challenges, and ensure seamless execution of all retail initiatives.
Sales Reporting & Analytics: Analyze sales data and performance metrics to measure success against KPIs, prepare regular reports for senior leadership, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize account strategies.
Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and agreements with buyers, ensuring competitive advantages while improving profitability and fostering strong, long-term partnerships.
New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with both existing and potential retail partners to drive market expansion and increase sales in underdeveloped regions or segments.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience in Sales/key account manager’s role, preferably in the CPG industry, with Office Products a plus.
Experience with Walmart, Target, Staples or other major consumer retailers is required.
Proven success working with retailers, managing daily business needs and identifying new opportunities
SKILLS
Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to interact and present to top management and external clients and agencies
Ability to translate market insight to business strategy and drive implementable plans
Ability to present sales strategy, and execute on plans
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and explain sales information clearly and confidently
Ability to think strategically and create a bigger picture vision while also executing that vision
Self-motivated and proactive
Highly organized and able to see multiple projects through completion
Enthusiastic, collaborative and energetic
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred; relevant experience in sales or customer service will also be considered.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Travel as required
Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
