Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team at our busy warehouse and distribution center. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a range of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers, to ensure the efficient and safe movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have a background in warehouse management, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Shift - 11pm to 8am - Sunday through Thursday. Overtime as needed.
Duties:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers, to move products and supplies within the warehouse and distribution center.
- Load and unload products from delivery trucks and trailers.
- Conduct regular safety checks on all equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs to the warehouse supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies, ensuring that products are properly stored and accounted for.
- Work closely with warehouse management to optimize warehouse operations and ensure that inventory is properly stocked and rotated.
- Participate in a team environment, working collaboratively with other warehouse staff to achieve warehouse goals.
- Follow warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts. Overhead Crane highly desired.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and materials handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and experience working with these systems.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience working in a distribution center or similar environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with Hi-Lo trucks and other heavy equipment is a plus.
Skills:
- Experience with warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers.
- Strong materials handling skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and distribution center logistics.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience with Hi-Lo trucks and other heavy equipment is a plus.
