Position Overview: The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on leader who actively engages in all maintenance activities within the department. This role is critical in ensuring efficient operations and requires close collaboration with the Plant Manager. A key focus of this position is effective people management, fostering a positive team environment, and developing the skills of maintenance staff, all while personally actively performing day to day facility and equipment maintenance responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards within 5 different buildings.
Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
Coordinate directly with internal teams and external contractors to streamline maintenance schedules, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
Utilize problem-solving skills in project management to achieve cost savings by accurately projecting and tracking job costs with internal resources and external contractors, while collaborating with management and accounting to ensure adherence to budget expectations.
Interface with internal departments and external subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of all maintenance tasks and projects.
Manage, delegate, and prioritize maintenance tasks using project management systems such as Jira
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and communicate project statuses to management, emphasizing hands-on oversight.
Plan and schedule preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maximizing equipment uptime.
Continually assess and improve maintenance processes for efficiency, driving hands-on initiatives.
Foster a culture of teamwork and safety within the department, ensuring all team members feel valued and engaged.
Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed in a family-owned company environment.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Skilled in hydraulics, pneumatics, and experienced general maintenance practices in a manufacturing setting.
Proficient in reading and interpreting measurements from dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, electrical testers, and multimeters.
Possesses skills and background in hazardous material training and disposal processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and effective handling of hazardous substance
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
Demonstrated project management skills, including planning and executing maintenance schedules.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external contractors.
Proven experience in people management, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
Proficiency in computer systems for data management and project tracking; experience with tools like Jira is preferred.
Ability to self-direct as well as efficient oversight of direct reports.
Proven experience in a maintenance role, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
Shift Details:
First shift, Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
