You can see our signs on almost any street corner. JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a full-time, Anchorage-based Industrial Painter to join our growing team. Under limited supervision, the Industrial Painter will perform in-shop preparation tasks to complete sign projects, including but not limited to surface preparation of metals, plastics, and wood, mixing customized paint colors based on industry standard paint systems, and applying primer, paint and/or stain via compressed air sprayer or paintbrush. Under direction from the Production Manager, the Industrial Painter also performs minor assembly tasks including, but not limited to, cutting, taping, gluing, installing LED modules, or general shop support tasks. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will work under direct supervision of an experienced painter, but once trained will be expected to work independently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned) To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with training and support. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Review approved drawings and art proofs for each installation, removal, or repair project
Gather fabricated materials for painting/coating
Retrieve paint formulas from database and mix by weight to achieve desirable chemical performance and color
Maintain a positive, clean, organized, and safe work site
Maintain painting equipment, including paint, tool cabinet organization, and proper safety equipment
Fulfill all other duties assigned as assigned by leadership
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
Ability to operate a forklift is desired but not required
2+ years painting experience with a sprayer
Prior sign industry experience highly desirable, but not required
Ability to self-motivate
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other employees
Strong focus on safety and quality
COMPENSATION
Competitive Wage, $20+/hr, D.O.E.
