Responsibilities:
The selected incumbent will be responsible for providing direction and oversight of the maintenance operation for all customer facing Automated Fare Collection (AFC) equipment (Metro Card & OMNY) throughout the subway system and at various out-of-system locations. In this capacity, the incumbent will ensure that all AFC equipment meets its operational requirements for availability and reliability. This encompasses managing the performance of service calls, preventive maintenance, software installations and hardware modifications/ upgrades through a maintenance workforce dispatched from six field offices throughout New York City. Additional responsibilities include directing AFC Machine Shop operations responsible for the repair, fabrication, servicing and modification of mechanical & electromechanical equipment; as well as the maintenance and security of safes in token booths, car barns, bus depots, and inter-agency locations (MTA-Bus, SIR, LIRR).
Compensation
Salary Range $119,377 - $169,439
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in computer science, communications, electronics, or a closely related field of study, and 12 years of full-time related experience, of which 8 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
