Garage Door Technician Apprentice
Serving Southern New Mexico for the past 26 years!
Custom Overhead Doors Inc. is looking to hire a garage door technician apprentice. The apprentice is responsible for assisting a senior technician and learning the installation and service/repair of residential and commercial garage doors. We are looking for a drug free, driven, honest and self-motivated individual seeking a trade they can grow into a career. The right candidate will be mechanically and technically inclined and possess the interpersonal skills to thrive in this customer service focused position. Must be physically able to occasionally lift heavy items, sometimes exceeding 100lbs. Prior experience with handling tools and general mechanics is necessary. New employee/candidate will be required to take a drug test. A positive drug test does not necessarily disqualify a candidate for employment, but will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Full-time position, Mon-Fri. Only apply if seeking a LONG-TERM position!!!! To the right apprentice, we offer:
Junior technician will transfer to a technician after 1 year on-the-job and formal review.

- Consistent work
- Company vehicle, tools and tablet
- Paid training
- Report to Senior Technician for field training
- Familiarize yourself with company software and tech.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools
- Use a ladder, forklift and scissor lift
- Ability to diagnose problems and think outside the box
- Learn to inspect job sites both pre and post install and repairs
