Forklift Operator (Pipe Loader)

This is a full-time position that is responsible for operating a forklift, and loading and unloading; this may include pipe from trucks and/or railcars, as well as other materials. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with making sure pipe racks are safe.
- Assisting with assuring the pipe is loaded safely and properly on trailers.
- Unloading pipe and other tubular products from trucks (either BHT or foreign trucks).
- Counting items and verifying against prepared lists; assisting in inventory verifications.
- Inspecting and performing minor maintenance to forklifts, as required.
- Responsible for safe and efficient operations of the vehicle; maintaining knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education with experience in trucking operations; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Prior pipe handling experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of equipment to be operated.
- OSHA forklift certification preferred, or have the ability to pass operator test for certification.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
