Field Leader

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Field Leader is responsible for acting as a lead in operational and technical support to Operators in Training, Operators II, III, and IV, and other field operations personnel.
CRITICAL TASKS / PERFORMANCE GOALS:
  • Assists Supervisor, or senior member on location, to ensure field staff members arrive to job on time and to ensure correct equipment and materials are ready for treatment
  • Assists Supervisor, or senior member on location, in conducting pre-job operating procedures and safety meetings.
  • Receives orders from Supervisor/Service Coordinator on rig-in specifics and instructs field operations personnel how to rig-in; assists crew members with rigging operations as needed.
  • Assists Supervisor, or senior member, in reviewing treatment program with customer prior to starting job; provides technical support to customer during execution of treatment; builds relationships with customer
  • Ensures treatment is running correctly and efficiently by providing technical support to field crew members on the ground and by walking around / monitoring equipment and operations.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves routine issues; informs Supervisor, or senior member, of non-routine or complex issues and receives instruction on how to adapt to or resolve the situation.
  • Provides training and guidance to lower Operators
  • Reviews, audits, and approves field operator paperwork (fuel reports, logbooks, job tickets, post job treatment reports, Transport of Dangerous Goods reports, quarterly inspection reports, etc.); ensures paperwork is completely and accurately filled out; ensures operators are eligible to drive/work and informs Coordinator if not; completes and submits own required paperwork as required
  • Responsible for driving and operating heavy and complex equipment as needed
  • Maintains truck and equipment to standards, and ensures all equipment, including personal protective equipment, is in proper working order
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water pre and post trip
  • Always maintains Standards: shop, yard, location and while traveling
  • Reports all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately to supervisor
  • Attends weekly Safety Meetings
  • All other duties assigned
  • Review, understand, and implement operational (OS), and technical standards including other company requirements for each task performed.
  • To use the assertive statement to a supervisor (including stop work authority) when a concern or know of a better solution presents itself.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • 3+ years oilfield service experience
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement
  • Knowledgeable of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet etc.) The employee may be exposed to diesel fumes or other airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; potential risk of electrical shock, vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. Provision, wearing and maintenance of personal protective/respirator equipment (including face masks).
Regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. As necessary can manually lift a load with two hands, using good manual handling techniques up to a maximum of: Male 65 lbs. (29.5 Kgs), Female 45 lbs. (20.4 Kgs).
Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus and distinguish color. Also includes creating and presenting information in both formal or informal meetings to multiple persons, or in the field environment to field crews, or one-to-one basis.
