Evaluation and Analytics Specialist

About Project Angel Heart: Our vision is for all Coloradans living with severe illness to have access to nutritious food that supports their health and well-being. To that end, we compassionately deliver comfort and support through high-quality nutrition services, including medically tailored meals, while also advocating for the principles of “Food is Medicine.” This year, we will prepare and deliver more than 800,000 meals to more than 5,000 people living with cancer, heart failure, HIV/AIDS, and other illnesses.
Position Summary: For nearly 30 years, Project Angel Heart has improved the health and well-being of Coloradans living with life-threatening illnesses by preparing and delivering medically tailored meals across the state while promoting nutrition and the power of food as medicine. This position will grow our research program and support operational and financial improvements through data collection, analysis, and reporting. By joining our team, you’ll use your data skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with severe illness, helping us provide the best possible nutrition and care.
Amount of Time and Status: Exempt. Schedule is typically Monday – Friday.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Compensation: Starting salary is $60,000 - $65,000 annually.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
· Collect and Organize Data: Gather and clean data from various sources, including client records and program feedback, to ensure we have accurate and useful information.
· Analyze Data for Insights: Look for trends and patterns in the data to help us understand our impact on client health and improve our meal program. This will include statistical analysis of research data such as healthcare utilization and cost data.
· Create Clear Reports and Visuals: Make easy-to-understand reports and visualizations to share important findings with our team, healthcare partners, and supporters.
· Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with all departments, including operations and development teams, to understand their data needs and help them make data-driven decisions.
· Improve Our Processes: Suggest and implement better ways to collect, manage, and analyze data to support our mission of improving health through nutrition.
· Ensure Data Security: Protect the confidentiality and integrity of patient data, following best practices and healthcare regulations.
· Manage Multiple Projects: Balance several projects at once, ensuring they are completed on time and meet our goals to enhance patient care.
· Ensure Data Quality: Regularly check our data for accuracy and consistency, resolving any issues that arise to maintain the highest standards of care.
· Stay Current and Learn: Keep up with the latest trends and tools in data analysis and healthcare to continually improve your skills and our processes.
· Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
· Passion for Project Angel Heart’s mission
· Master’s degree in public health, biostatistics, or closely related field is preferred
· Fluency with statistical analysis programs, such as SAS, R, or SPSS is required
· Experience with data management and program evaluation, preferably for programs related to health
· Ability to successfully communicate data findings to a non-technical audience
· Ability to train staff and volunteers on data collection and management
· High level of self-motivation, reliability, and dependability
· Willingness to maintain confidential information
· Interested and able to work with diverse populations
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Valid Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
Work environment is an office setting. Physical activities include sitting at a desk and working on a keyboard and computer; conducting business over the telephone and via email; and using a fax and copy machine. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface professionally with the public.
Compensation:
