Job Description

Climate United is seeking a highly organized and mission-driven Director, Program Operations & Data Management. This role is pivotal in providing operational and project support, as well as ensuring data integrity for Climate United’s initiatives. The Director will collaborate closely with internal teams and leadership to effectively collect, analyze, and report on impact and operational data. The ideal candidate will be a positive contributor to our high-performing, self-starting culture.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support: Provide operational assistance to Climate United, contributing to key processes such as program reporting and compliance.

  • Reporting Design: Design, prepare, and distribute comprehensive reports for key stakeholders, including the U.S. EPA, Climate United leadership, and other partners.
  • Data Systems Development: Create and enhance data systems and capture processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout all stages.
  • Impact Data Management: Collaborate with the Impact Measurement and Management team to collect, manage, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative portfolio impact data.
  • Grant Compliance: Support grant reporting and compliance to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Foster a positive, mission-driven work environment by engaging with colleagues across the organization on special projects, promoting collaboration and supporting a high-performing team culture.
  • Data Warehouse Development: Design, implement, and maintain data warehousing solutions to optimize data storage, retrieval, and reporting capabilities, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across the organization.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze data needs, develop meaningful reports and dashboards, and support decision-making processes by transforming raw data into actionable insights.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, along with proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift).
  • Proven experience in operational roles with a focus on data management, reporting, and compliance, ideally within a nonprofit or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of data systems, data integrity, and analysis methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective reporting frameworks for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in grant reporting and compliance, particularly related to federal funding is a plus.
  • Passionate about climate action and the mission of Climate United, with a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, primarily within the U.S., and flexibility to work from the Washington, DC area or be available for quarterly in-office collaboration.
