Design Assistant

General Summary: This position assists the Designer and Design Director in the day-to day operations of the design department.

Major Responsibilities:

Create swatch books for all fabrics, trim, used in design.
Maintain an up-to-date picture record of all samples and also an up-to-date file of all names and style numbers.
Check in all orders received and handle all shipping.
Keep all sample rooms organized.
Track all sample orders.
Assist in sketching and detailing.
Assist in designing the product line.
Create line sheets.
Preparation of correspondences, spreadsheets, and forms.
Special projects as needed.
Send and track all packages to factories and vendors.
Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions and respond understandably.
Majority of decisions are made utilizing established policies and procedures, and concern self and/or work responsibilities only.
Work responsibilities concern very limited confidential and/or sensitive information.
Job duties are regular and recurring, and focus on a single task, seldom requiring attention to other areas/duties
Assertive self-starter with strong decision-making ability.
Under general direction, examines moderately complex information and/or situations and prepares summary, solves problems for self, complex problems are referred to supervisor.
Has no supervisory responsibility, provides basic work direction usually one-on-one.

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

High school diploma
Ability to sketch.
0-2 years' experience in the field
Creative background a plus, graduated from fashion career a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop Knowledge

Salary Range: The pay range of this position is $24/hr - $26/hr. Actual salary will be determined based off candidate's skill sets, years of experience, and other job-related factors. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, 401K, and additional company benefits.
