About Us Family Centered Services of Alaska (FCSA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1989 by Fairbanks, Alaska community members committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families. FCSA provides behavioral health and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes. Smart Start Learning Center is a subsidiary of FCSA and provides daytime care to families in our community. About the Job Tuesday - Saturday 11:00am - 7:00pm Family Centered Services of Alaska is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Aide to join our team. In this role, you'll provide therapeutic support to children and adolescents in their homes and communities, working directly with them and their families. Summary of Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Motivates and encourages children to complete required treatment milieu activities as identified by each child’s Individualized Service Plan, (ISP). 2. Provides outreach services as a primary worker with clients, parents, and families. 3. Develops positive empathic relationship with clients. 4. Serves as a positive role model for clients. 5. Accompanies clients during travel to and from school, activities, court hearings, and appointments as needed 6. Assists in planning and implementation of recreational, educational, and vocational activities. 7. Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnights. Qualifications: 1. High School diploma or GED is the minimum required education for this position. 2. Associate degree in psychology, social work, justice, guidance and counseling, sociology, education or other human service field is preferred but not mandatory. 3. Two years of experience working with children is preferred. 4. Current Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in accordance with FCSA policy limitations/restrictions. Adequate transportation is needed for this role, to escort clients to and from appointments, etc. This position is a driving position. Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to State of AK regulations and must pass a State of AK Background Check.
