Job Summary:
Brand Analytics & Insights Management (BAIM) at Newell Brands is a team closely linked to both the sales and marketing teams, with a consumer-driven mindset. The Associate Manager role within BAIM is to assist the organization in gaining a deeper understanding of consumers, shoppers, competition, product categories, and market dynamics through data analysis. The Associate Manager’s primary responsibilities are the management and use of the Luminate platform to support the Walmart team and Newell Brands corporately. This position is the central point of management for the Luminate platform, therefore the key objective is to be the ‘subject matter expert’, both internally and customer facing.
Job Responsibilities:
Data Management and Analytics
Organize and manage data within the Luminate platform to support cross functional teams with analyses and insights.
Perform data quality checks and custom item coding across all Newell categories in Luminate.
Manage training calendars, topics, and supplier partner relationship.
Support teams with, but not limited to; data analysis to support line reviews: distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing opportunities, JBPs & Customer meetings.
Inform stakeholders on critical project details and executional elements.
Effectively communicate findings to varying groups within the organization through discussion and presentation.
Strategy and Brand Vision Support:
Proactively identify Brand and Sales opportunities, as well as potential challenges, develop and communicate action plan to address.
Provides guidance to direct manager during strategic planning and situation assessments.
Brings a spirit of collaboration and service to the role.
The Candidate
The successful candidate is a strong business leader with experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. They must have excellent communication skills and have a sharp, detail oriented analytical approach. This candidate must have both strong strategic capabilities and be comfortable with hands-on tactical execution.
Candidate Must have:
Four-year (B.A. or B.S.) degree in Business, Comp-Sci, or related field
4+ years of CPG experience; sales, marketing, and/or category management. Client and/or Supplier side is acceptable
2+ years hands on experience with Syndicated Panel data (Circana (IRI/NPD), Nielsen IQ, Numerator)
Experience working directly with the Luminate platform – Specifically the Shopper Behavior Module
Ideal Candidate will also have:
2+ years of direct and hands-on retail/CPG specific experience, Walmart preferred
Experience working directly with Syndicated POS data (Circana (IRI/NPD), Nielsen IQ, Retail Link, or other retailer specific data platform)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Proficiency in BI & reporting tools such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau
The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment
Storytelling
- Experience tailoring and effectively communicating actionable insights to different audiences and stakeholders: brand and sales leadership, cross-functional teams, and retail partners, etc.
A strong sense of intellectual curiosity and drive to proactively answer the ‘why’ behind the buy
