Art Teacher- Long Term Substitute
Burke Town School is seeking an Art Teacher Long Term Substitute for 6-12 weeks who will teach kindergartenthrough eighth grade students. The ideal candidate will design and present exciting lessons(painting, drawing, sculpting, computer art, digital media, etc) that actively engage all learnersand build an appreciation and exposure to a wide variety of media. Opportunities includeinvolvement with student art displays, contests, and preparing props for school performances. Wehave a professional community of integrated arts teachers who meet weekly to support commonpractices and contribute to special projects in the school.
Knowledge of Responsive Classroomand/or Developmental Design techniques, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports arepreferred.Burke Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrantcommunity in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven pre K-8th grade schoolsranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attendone of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- oranother high school of their choosing.We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME.
Our region is known forbreathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing andother outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains.Both Littleton, NH and St. Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues. Ourcommunities attract wholesome families, faculty and staff.
