Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and a strong understanding of materials handling. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility, contributing to efficient shipping and receiving processes. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas.
• Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accuracy in documentation and inventory counts.
• Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any mechanical issues for repair.
• Assist with heavy lifting and materials handling as required, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, with a focus on shipping and receiving operations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts; relevant certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial for effective inventory control.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair when necessary.
• Basic maths skills are required for accurate inventory management and documentation.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle materials safely in a fast-paced environment.
