Windymains, a division of Glennon Brothers, is a leading manufacturer of high-quality timber products, holding a premier position in the Irish and UK timber processing industry. We are currently seeking a General Operator for our factory in East Lothian.
Successful candidates will work in various areas within the site, collaborating in teams to fulfil tasks associated with different parts of the production process. This role is physically demanding, and applicants should consider this aspect before applying. Employees will predominantly work outdoors.
Job Details:

• The Job:
• Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure efficient workflow.
• Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain quality standards and optimise production processes.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
• Hours: 39 per week, with a minimum of 1 guaranteed hour of overtime each week.
• Breaks: Paid breaks are provided.
• Shift Allowance: 15% of the hourly rate is paid for all contracted hours if working shifts. No Shift Allowance is paid if you are not on shift, and it is only paid for the first 39 hours.
• Shifts: Either Monday to Thursday 7 - 4 and Fridays 7 - 2pm or Rotating shifts - One week is a day shift, and the other is a backshift.
• Shift Schedule:
• Week 1: Monday to Friday 6 am – 2 pm, Break 30 mins – 10 am – 10:30 am
• Week 2: Monday – Thursday 2 pm – 11 pm, Break 30 mins – 6 pm – 6:30 pm; Friday 2 pm – 6 pm, No Break

Qualifications:

• Any previous experience within a timber environment would be advantageous; however, it is not necessary.
