Job Summary
Part time butcher / butchers assistant
We are looking to recruit a part time butcher / butchers assistant to work 3 days per week in our instore Butchery counter at Kenny's Foodfare, Newtownabbey (beside the Corrs Corner Roundabout).
The role will be to assist the Butcher in the provision of a quality butchery offering and Kenny's Foodfare prepack offering in store. We are looking for an enthusiastic staff member who take a pride in their work and can ensure high standards of butchery offering are provided in our store.
The role is to assist the butcher in the following daily tasks:

• Prepare, cut, weigh and wrap butchery and prepack items for the counter and chilled display cabinets
• Assist the butcher in the production of meat products, including mince, burgers, etc
• Monitor and rotate stock to ensure minimal wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Receive deliveries, pack into fridge and record accordingly

We are looking for the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in a food preparation or production role preferred.

• Familiarity with butchery practices and techniques is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
• Strong understanding of food safety principles and practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Hours: 3 shifts per week (Monday to Saturday on a rota basis). Hours can be discussed
Salary will be dependant on experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
