Construction Site Superhero (Full-Time Skilled Labour Dynamo)

Dear skilled labourer/ construction site magician… whatever you call yourself
If you're tired of reading dull job postings and are looking for an incredible opportunity, listen up.
We’ve been on the lookout for a talented labourer to join our team.
But I'm not after just any skilled labourer; I want a team player who is proficient in a range of technical tasks – someone with proven site experience and the ability to execute to completion.
Think of it like this:
“Robin meets Batman” with a dash of Mr. Clean
Got it?
We're on the lookout for a Skilled Labour Dynamo!
If you're all about setting the Gold Standard, paying attention to every detail, and being the go-to support on the ground, then you're the superhero we need.
Your mission? To ensure our projects are not just good but absolutely world-class.
You're the one who keeps the show running smoothly, stepping in where needed and making sure everything's up to scratch.
Efficiency is your middle name, and you've got the skills to fill in the gaps between trades, keeping the momentum going strong.
As our go-to person, you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and dive into the nitty-gritty alongside our fantastic subcontractor team.
Your proactive approach and top-notch tradesman skills make you the unsung hero who ensures our projects move forward with speed, precision, and a touch of magic.
About Us:
I’m the Director of Operations at Thrive Assets, and we're in the process of converting two magnificent Victorian properties into 17x high-end residential apartments.
We're not just “refurbing”; we're looking to create the BEST product on the market on the most prestigious street in Cardiff.
Our team is the biggest bunch of passionate real estate fanatics you’ve ever met, and we want you to join us on this epic journey.
Here's The Deal:
We're looking for a full-time skilled labourer to work on our 2x active development sites (located c. 50m apart, on the same street).
At some stages, work will be intense and it will be all-hands on deck from Monday to Thursday/ Friday, whereas at other times we may be able to take a breather.
Your job is absolutely key in taking our projects from where they are now to the finish line successfully with us.
We need someone who shares our goal of delivering an outstanding product to the marketplace.
Should you take up the challenge, you will be the superhero on the ground who thrives as the go-to person who supports the team, creates conditions for success and ensures a smooth journey to the project's finish line.
Your Tasks:
  • To perform skilled tasks in construction with a passion to support the team
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the project and trades team to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • To execute tasks related to carpentry, and other trades as required
  • Ensuring a neat and orderly work environment, setting the stage for all trades to succeed
  • Boosting the performance of all trades by making sure they've got what they need to execute to the highest standard
  • Staying ahead of the curve with the trades! Simply ask them what support they need, allowing them to zero in on what they’re good at and hired to do
  • To master the art of filling in the gaps to guarantee a seamless transition between trades
  • To collect materials and handle deliveries, where required by Client
  • Maintaining a consistently clean, safe and well-organised site at all times
  • To support the waste management plan across both sites, to ensure ease of collection
  • To proactively solve problems in real-time with effective communication
  • To ensure world-class quality control, inspecting the work from all trades and delivering feedback to the Client
  • Overseeing site health and safety, identifying risk, and maintaining safe work practice
Key Requirements:
  • MINIMUM: Proven experience as a skilled labourer in the construction industry
  • EXPERTISE: Ability to operate a wide range of hand and power tools with a positive mental attitude
  • MUST: Be a team player who is 100% committed to crafting an environment for maximum productivity and efficiency across all trades
  • A BIG PLUS: Relevant certifications as a skilled tradesperson
  • WOULD BE NICE: Familiarity with diverse construction materials, suppliers, and strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness while upholding high-quality standards
  • MUST-HAVE: An unyielding passion for transforming blueprints into reality and physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job
  • A LOVE: For precise, world-class execution
  • POSITIONING: An individual with outstanding organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of site cleanliness and smooth operation
You should be someone who navigates seamlessly through construction sites, understands the intricate dance of various trades, and possesses the foresight to foresee the needs of the team.
Before You Get Too Excited:
This will be a walk in the park. We're not your average team – we thrive in the fast lane, obsessed with excellence, and downright crazy about the nitty-gritty details.
We're in search of a site superhero—a true team player who glides through project needs with finesse and expertise.
This project is already in full swing, and we need someone who can hop on board like they've been part of the action from day one.
If you're ready to dive headfirst into this incredible journey, we want you on our team!
What To Do Next:
Craft a cover letter that speaks volumes about your journey in the construction realm. I don't want generic tales of your love for hard hats and steel-toed boots. I want the nitty-gritty details. Share instances where you made construction magic happen.
Send us links to your proudest construction achievements. Whether it's a finished building, a well-managed project, or a happy client review – show us what sets you apart.
If you're not up for this, don't bother applying. We're serious about finding our site superhero.
Good luck!
